Expanding the Frontiers of Nuclear Chemistry

Welcome to the RadLab

The Radiochemistry Lab (RadLab) at UCF, led by Dr. Vasileios Anagnostopoulos, focuses on fundamental and applied aspects of Radiochemistry, Nuclear Forensics, as well as Nuclear Fuel Disposal and Environmental Radiochemistry.

Research interests include the fate of fission products and actinides in the environment for reasons related to radioactive waste management and the study of actinide compounds and complexes with organic ligands in waste tanks, repositories and the environment.

Nuclear forensics projects focus on pre- and post-detonation forensics with emphasis on spectroscopic signatures of uranium phases, as well as synthesis and development of sensitive analytical techniques of radiological debris.
